Over the last 5 years, Cash App migrated from a monolith to a service oriented architecture. At present we have hundreds of services communicating via event streams. These services provide solutions across multiple areas like ML, financial reporting, data warehouse ingestion and materialised views. Flink on Ververica is the technology that we use to power these streaming use cases.
The purpose of this talk is to share our journey enabling self-serve streaming applications using Apache Flink and Ververica at Cash. We’ll cover infrastructure automation, operations, the main use cases we have implemented and learnings from operationalising Flink applications in production.
